The light was very strange outside

Like a prolonged lightning

The white hot fire in the sky

Could prove to be quite frightening

“ You must be terrified “ the smiling faerie crooned

“ We are not scared “ the children said, beneath the ripened moon

“Then follow me “ the faerie said,

With a bright gleam in her eye

“Yes, follow me “ the faerie said

“And we’ll dance away the night “

They walked beside the faerie

Past strangely large toadstools

And they danced with fae folk comrades

On grass laden with dew

The light was very strange outside

Like a prolonged lightning

The white hot fire in the air

Could prove to be quite frightening

Never more were the children seen

For they had gone away

Never more were the children seen

For they were taken by the fae.
